Grand Larceny
On January 3, 2018 the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft at Sandy Springs Electrical in Laurens. Investigators later identified the suspect as David McJunkin Jr. and obtained a warrant on him for Grand Larceny (Enhanced), due to him having prior convictions for property crimes. On January 14, 2018 Deputies responded to a burglary at Bryant’s Body Shop in Laurens. Multiple items were taken during the burglary and then stashed in the woods across the street. During the investigation Deputies were able to identify McJunkin as the person responsible for the burglary. Later that evening Deputies located McJunkin and arrested him as he returned to the property to retrieve the items he previously stashed in the woods. Mr. McJunkin was transported to the Johnson Detention Center where he was booked for Burglary 2nd Degree and two counts of Grand Larceny. He is currently being held on a $110,000.00 bond. “This criminal has had numerous second chances but as you can see, he continues to terrorize our community and steal from businesses in Laurens County. Hopefully this time we can send him back to prison where he belongs.” Sheriff Don Reynolds
